TV PILOT Best Scene Screenplay: KARA, by Nathan Allen

Kara Yunjoo Liebowitz is your average Jewish Korean-adoptee in Texas – effervescent, insecure, ravaged by adolescence, obsessed with Ezra Miller, and ashamed of the Korean heritage that sets her apart from her Jewish community. Kara finds her way to self-love and acceptance on the road to her Bat Mitzvah, accompanied by the memories of her beloved Orthodox Grandfather, Zeyde, and a newfound relationship with the last person in the world she wants to see – her birth mother.
